Sporting barely a wrinkle since ’58, Reebok sneakers have been keepin’ your rotation comfy and statement for waaay over a decade.
If we’re talking fresh white trainers and we’re talking leather, we’re 100% talking about Reebok, right? With their catalogue of ‘Classics,’ including silhouettes that take cues from vintage athletics, the Bolton born treads first made an appearance in gyms and quickly took over the much loved UK garage and urban scene.
With some trainers blazin’ a trail and burnin’ out and some still makin’ waves, the NPC II and Club C remain court classics. Need some inspo on how to style these sneakers? Rap royalty Nines laces up and shows us how it’s done with a fresh head-to-toe ‘fit! Sneakerheads it’s time to get nostalgic, let’s check out the JD-exclusive runners you need for your SS21 crep collection.
NPC II
Originally released in ‘85, the Newport Classic aka NPC was an instant icon. The tennis trainer was crafted with a white premium leather upper and abrasion resistant outsole becoming an instant hit at the time and remains to be one of the classics in the sneaker hall of fame.
Keepin’ the same design lines as the OG, the clean cut NPC II still looks as good off the court as it does on, with its no fuss minimalist design and athletic nod.
Clean. Classic. Club C.
In the last few years, we’ve seen next level trainer tech take over the sneaker scene but Reebok have stayed true to their roots with their retro models. Coming out on top of the massive wave of space-age runners in ’85, the Club C is truly a tennis icon that lives on! No knits, no space-age foams, no rethinking of shape; they’re still the same Champion sneaker that were repped on the tennis courts and runways.
With the athleisure revolution exploding onto the streetwear scenes in the ‘80s, Reebok dropped a trainer that would take you from the gym to the streets. With the Club C’s EVA midsole absorbing shock as you step, they merged the lines between sportswear and style, givin’ your ‘fit a casual, sporty and retro look.
The Club C and NPC are nothing short of iconic and all ooze plenty of that throwback charm we all love so much. Wanna’ cop? Check ‘em out on site RN.
