Back in May, we announced that we’d linked up with Ball Out UK as their Official Fashion Retail Partner! Fast forward three months and just last weekend, we saw the finals go down in London.
That’s right, on the 12th and 13th August, we hit up Finsbury Park in the capital to watch who was to be crowned champ of the UK’s biggest 3×3 tournament.
Taking along some familiar faces, prizes and loads more, get all the deets on what happened at the final right here ⬇️⬇️
On The Court
Kicking off bright and early at 10.30am each day, the finals were packed with high energy, tense games and stacks of qualifying teams hoping to bag a W.
Down at Finsbury Park, the tournament took place over not one, or two but eight courts – with the main court seeing all the main action.
Champions were crowned in seven divisions, which ranged from under 16s to Elite level. The winning teams were:
U16 Boys – Rising Starts
U16 Girls – The Scorpions
U18 Boys – Hoops Trilogy
U18 Girls – Dawg in Us
Recreational Men – Ghetto Angels
Women – LDN Warriors
Elite Men – London Enforcers.
Not stopping at just the tournament…the JD Dunk contest went OFF. Pro Dunker Piotr Grabowski (@grabo_dunks) took home the trophy after showing everyone his mad skills – including dunking over six people!
Off The Court
While the final was heating up on court, the JD court was THE place to be between games.
Our YouTube ambassador Darkest Man (@darkestman) was down at the JD zone to host and motivate the crew, while celebrating his birthday with us. He was dressed in H-to-T Jordan with a tee and cargo pants combo.
But what’s a birthday without cake? We treated our guy to chocolate on chocolate (…on more chocolate) with the ultimate Air Max bday cake from Adam and Abi Cakes (@adamabicakes) 🎂✔️
As well as Darkest, we were joined at the JD fanzone by the More Than Ball (@morethanballshow) girls. They were backing their very own champ, Shequila (@shequilajoseph), who won the women’s final alongside her squad! All the gals repped signature courtside style from Jordan with the likes of cosy tracksuits, leggings and T-shirts being a go-to. As well as statement ‘fits, they were lacing up in all kinds of freshness with Air Jordan 1s, Air Max 95s and Air Force 1s all being spotted on the crew.
The JD zone was home to more than just the court! While fuelling players with healthy snacks from Applied Nutrition, we had our very own customisation station where you could upgrade your sneakers with custom laces.
For those looking to bag a prize, we had some tough challenges too. First up, the Big Shot aka. a 20ft high basketball hoop where we were giving away fresh trainers, shirts and basketballs. As well as the Big Shot, people could show off their skills on our Attack game – where speed is everything!
While all of this was goin’ down, the Wingstop truck had everyone covered with elite chicken and chips. Winner.
What a weekend 🤯 Wanna’ see more? You can watch the action from each day of the final over on Ball Out UK’s YouTube channel.
