Everyone’s been talking about it for months…
A huge Summer of football kickstarted on Sunday, 2nd June, down at Selhurst Park when the biggest names across YouTube faced up against one another.
Beta Squad FC took on American side AMP at the packed-out Premier League stadium, with all ticket proceeds going towards The Water Project – a charity that provides access to clean, safe and reliable water and sanitation solutions across sub-Saharan Africa.
And as official Headline Sponsors for the charity game, we got to be there for every second of it!
Here’s what went down 👇
Practice Makes Perfect
Ahead of the big game, we got together with five players from AMP and five from Beta Squad for an exclusive training session.
This gave both teams the chance to check out how each other’s skills rated across three football challenges from both sides of the pond. From shooting drills to quarterback throws, let’s just say the results were…mixed 👀

Honours Even at Selhurt Park
Matchday rolled around and it was time to meet the players and managers 🤝
Mark Goldbridge (@goldbridgemark) channelled his passion for the Red Devils into a new team as he took charge of the Beta Squad side. In his ranks were the likes of Harry Pinero, Yung Filly, Deji, Aitch, Danny Aarons and of course our guy Chunkz.
In the opposite dugout, Druski (@druski) marshalled the AMP squad that featured Chris MD, Angry Ginge, WillNE and many more huge names, including a mystery player.
Taking us behind the scenes across the day, Specs Gonzalez (@specsgonzalez) and Expressions (@expressionsoozing) were up to their usual antics as our hosts on the JD socials. Catch the pair as they got speaking to the speculated Premier League player on the AMP side here…

It was time for kick-off, and after a cagey opening 20 minutes, Beta’s own AJ Shabeel broke the deadlock to take the lead.
As the two side’s repped the JD Sports logo at the heart of their shirts, they went into half-time all square at 2-2.
The second half threw up even more action! Both Mark and Druski got out of their managers outfits and laced up their adidas boots to take to the pitch and hopefully make a crucial impact.
Beta Squad opened what looked like an unassailable lead at 5-2, but as they were pegged back to 6-5 the pressure began to take its toll.
Add to that tired bodies and a baking hot day, Druski’s fresh legs thought that he’d snatched a late equaliser, but the flag was up as he’d strayed offside.
With confusion over the ruling unfolding on the sideline, the rest of the AMP played on, latching onto a lapse in Beta’s defence when former Chelsea, Liverpool, City and England striker Daniel Sturridge levelled it at 6-6 with what turned out to be the last kick of the game.
The Match In Numbers
25,000 fans filled out the stands at Selhurst Park, with thousands raised for a brilliant cause.
And if you couldn’t be at the game, the whole spectacle was livestreamed on the Beta Squad’s YouTube channel, where 804,000 tuned in to watch.
