It’s been another odd week in the world of lockdown. But, when in crisis, humanity has a habit of coming together, gettin’ in the groove and spreading happiness.
Callin’ out and supporting the NHS and our keyworkers is giving us all the morale boost we need! Applauding from front doors, windows and balconies while in quarantine mode, gets us all showing our huge appreciation for our heroes and says a massive thank-you to those keeping us safe every single day.
With the community joining together tonight to take part in clapping for our carers, NHS, keyworkers and those working on the front line, let’s take a look at our round up of some of the positive moments and acts of kindness from this week…
Art Attack
Making us feel proud and brightening up the area, Drew Allan’s latest tribute honours everyone who is raising money to support those who are risking their lives to keep us safe. His murals have been popping up all over the North East of England and are 100% putting a smile on people’s faces!

Goin’ the Distance
Endurance runner Amy Hughes took on the challenge of jogging for 26 hours to raise money for the amazing NHS. After being inspired by the London Marathon’s 2.6 challenge – a 26-mile distance run or walk – Amy quite literally decided to go the extra mile. Completing the whole challenge on her treadmill at home she covered over 104 miles and raised over £12K – a HELL of an effort.

Captain Tom Turns 100
To mark the occasion of Captain Moore getting on the move, walking 100 laps of his back garden and raising an enormous £29m for NHS Charities Together, the Royal Mail have added a birthday wish and postmark to envelopes to celebrate his 100th birthday. This national treasure has lifted up community spirit and given us all the optimism we need!
