Bringin’ Us Joy This Week…

In these uncertain times we could all do with a little good news right? So we’ve rounded up some feel good stories of the week.

Thousands of people have been comin’ together all across the world to bring a little happiness and say a BIG thanks to our heroes. We’ve seen tonnes of people standing at their front doors and windows for the #clapforcarers, to show their appreciation for NHS staff and key workers. And it’s boosting community morale!

‘Captain Tobias’

After being inspired by Capt Tom, school boy Tobias Weller completed a marathon and raised over £80,000! After smashin’ his target of £500, people in his hometown cheered him on. Tobias who has Cerebral Palsy and uses a walking frame completed a HUGE 42km in 70 days!

The Power of Art

Promoting the movement of #BLM, a street artist has painted a mural to support unity. Nathan Murdoch’s amazing design in Peterborough reps two hands joined together to create a heart shape. Commissioned to create the work by a local charity, it helps use art to highlight coming together as one.

Golden Arches

A McDonald’s super fan showed his love for the burger giant when he came up with the creative way of beating queues. Lee Watson knew there would be carnage on the roads as drive-thrus reopened, so he built his own ‘car’ out of card and ‘drove’ to the drive-thru to lighten the mood and give the queue something to smile about while they waited.

Doctor by day rapper by night! Doctor Latoya Mwoombola AKA Doctor Lioness has not only been working as a doctor in Namibia fighting Corona Virus but uses her down time rapping as an independent artist empowering women to feel comf’ in their own skin. SUPERHERO.

Street art is having a moment RN. With art galleries closed across cities, canvases have been croppin’ up everywhere on our streets to show our love to the NHS heroes. Artist Atila has painted a powerful mural to spread hope, joy and say thanks to our front line workers.
