It’s Men’s Mental Health Awareness Month, and we wanted to do something to highlight the importance of speaking up.
In collaboration with mental health charity The Mix, we’re hosting a three-part series with the Bov Boys and the lads down at Winton Yanited, exploring different topics surrounding men’s mental health.
With only 25% of men who have struggled with their mental health saying they would talk to a mate about it, we wanted to look at how we can help create safe spaces where men feel comfortable opening up.
It’s time to break the stigma.
The Mix
The Mix is a free online service that provides confidential support, advice and community for under-25s.
They also operate Shout, a free, confidential crisis text service, which has supported over one million people with more than 3.5 million conversations since launching in 2018.
If you’ve been affected by any of the topics discussed, text SHOUT to 85258 or visit @giveusashoutinsta.
Episode 1 – Pitch Side
In the first episode, the conversation centres around loneliness and anxiety.
The Bov Boys and a few of the Winton Yanited lads talk about their own experiences, and the impact those struggles have had on their lives.

The lads also share the things that help them get through difficult times and why having people around you who listen can make a real difference.
