10 Years of Nike Tech

Since 1971, Nike’s been leading the sportswear game with new levels of performance, design and technology.

When Jarett Reynolds and Michael Leon worked as designers for the brand in 2005, their initial concept for Nike Tech didn’t quite turn the heads of Nike’s HQ like they wanted it to, as tech-inspired apparel wasn’t trending.

Without the pressures of deadlines or expectations, the pair worked on the design as a side project to create sportswear with a streetwear edge.

They eventually released the first Tech Pack in 2007, with a staple Windrunner and the use of fleece material – both part of the Tech Pack’s DNA.

It took Nike another six years to develop and refine the original drop to create Nike Tech, bringing revolutionary tech to fleece fabric that hadn’t been seen before.

Behind the Design

Since then, the premium, lightweight fleece has been delivering comfort like no other.

Smooth on both the inside and out, the double-spacer fabric delivers stacks of heat without unnecessary bulk, so you can pick up the pace on a run, kick back when the temp drops or link up with your mates in the city.

This versatility is paired with utility-driven features, like the zippered pockets to secure your essentials, and a four-panelled hood for streamlined coverage.

Not forgetting its roots, the low-profile design nods back to Nike’s history with a chevron design to the chest of the hoodie, as well as the Futura badge.

Now landing in more styles, silhouettes and colourways than ever before, the Nike Tech range has something for everyone. Packed with sweatshirts, hoodies and joggers, you can double up your style and rock it as a tracksuit or make it stand out as an individual piece.

Your Faves In Nike Tech

Over the 10 years since inception, Nike Tech has blown up to become a street icon globally.

Creating a new uniform for the best athletes in the world, the matching tracksuits and signature style has captured the attention of the next gen with unmissable ‘fits.

Two-time WNBA MVP A’ja Wilson is all about highlight reel moments every time she steps on the court. ‘The Blockbuster’ was central to the Las Vegas Aces’ championship title in 2022, making sure her game and style’s on point with Nike.

While in the NBA, Giannis Antetokounmpo has rightfully earned his nickname the ‘Greek Freak’ for his descendance and his unique size, speed, strength and ball skills. When he’s off court, he’s stacking his ‘drobe full of Nike’s signature fabric to earn himself the ‘Tech Freak’ nickname.

Not only are established players going head-to-toe in Nike Tech, Victor Wembanyama is taking the limelight as one of the greatest b-ball prospects of his generation in his stride. Standing at 7’4”, ‘The Extraterrestial’ is the next superstar in the making to rep the full set.
