What’s Made The 95 So Iconic?
The thing is, the Air Max 95 wasn’t loved instantly. With a unique look and a blacked-out midsole – a Nike first – the contrasting opinions meant that designer Sergio Lozano knew he had created something that would become a talking point for decades to come.
The shoe was formed from two inspirations: the first (and more commonly known) was that each element represented the human body; the second that it was crafted by nature and the layered upper was soil eroded away by rain to expose the design 🌧️
After its release, the running community soon realised this trainer was here to stay. A first-of-its kind performance shoe with dual visible Air units in the forefoot made it stand out from the crowd and delivered more comfort and support than ever before.
This fast-paced look has lived on for nearly 30 years, transitioning from a heavy-duty runner to a staple amongst Sneakerheads’ rotations.
