An iconic moment, relived.
26th August, 1985. Michael Jordan. The summer after his rookie year.
Yet to become the biggest sports star on the planet – this moment made everyone take notice.
Nike’s exhibition game in Trieste, Italy. Jordan leaps and dunks so hard that he shatters the glass backboard into pieces.
And walks off like it’s nothing.
Not the first to break a backboard. Or the last. But the greatest.
Jordan now pays tribute to that legendary moment on court with a range inspired by the colours he wore that day.

A dunk for the ages
The signed jersey and AJ1s (with shards of glass still in the left sole) MJ repped were later auctioned as legendary pieces of memorabilia.
Now in a mid-top edition, Jordan has reimagined that dunk with a Starfish, White and Black colour combo.
Keeping the classic design lines and crisp leather panels, it’s sat on Nike Air cushioning and pivot circles in the rubber outsole.
Swooshes at the sidewalls, Air Wings logo to the heel, Jumpman on the tongue. The branding that makes AJ1s what they are.

Head-to-toe heat
Want the full look? JD-exclusive tees, joggers and hoodies offer laidback fits.
From an illustration of that dunk to the Air 1 graphic, the branding retells the shattered backboard story.
For a fresh finish, the signature Jumpman logo gets stacked above the Swoosh.
Continue the legacy.
