Back from the ‘90s: New Balance 878

Back in 2015, New Balance dug deep into its archives and revived a one-to-one version of the OG New Balance 878 – it’s first ever return.

Fast forward to now and over the past 5 years, the brand has dropped a range of new colourways, including a number of exclusive, must-cop collabs. That’s right, the 878 is officially back and the good news is, it just landed at JD in not one, or two, but four colourways.

Step Ahead

New Balance first dropped the 878 back in the early ‘90s as a running shoe. The first sneaker came in a simple, fresh white colourway with black and navy accents.

Back again but evolved for the streets, this heritage silhouette just dropped in four versatile colourways, including Light Grey, Black, Triple Dark Grey and seasonal Olive. They have a breathable mesh upper with leather and suede overlays, and sit on NB’s signature Abzorb midsole, aka. supportive cushioning for lightweight, long-lasting comfort.

To finish up? The iconic ‘N’ logo and ‘878’ embroidered to the sidewalls.

How to Style

Showing you exactly how it’s done, New Balance have recruited the ultimate crew to rep the latest sneak.

Hailing from London, Berlin and Paris, the guys are hitting the city and lacing up in the all-new 878. Meet Javel (@javelberlin), Anni (@lifeisapigsty) and Franck (@papioftheyouth).

From joggers to cargo pants (and everything in between), the 878 goes with pretty much everything! Dropping in versatile colourways, you can pair ’em with all black to keep all eyes on your feet, or keep it tonal. From chill day tracksuits to steppin’ out this Autumn, these kicks have it covered.

Cop ‘Em

Chunky and retro, the latest 878s tick all the boxes.
