Behind the Brand
Throw it back to 1966 and outerwear as we know it didn’t really exist. That’s where Berghaus came in.
Founded by climbers and mountaineers, Peter Lockey and Gordon Davison, Berghaus began under a different name as a specialist outdoor store in Newcastle, UK. The brand quickly got a rep for selling the best high-performance, outdoor essentials. As it grew, the guys changed the name to Berghaus, which is a literal translation of ‘Mountain House’ in German.
Over the past few decades, Berghaus has made waves – the first to bring a range of innovative techs to the market, including GORE-TEX and more.
