Recognised across the world for his footballing talent, Sterling has been an inspiration to the next generation of footballers.
But he wasn’t bred from football culture. Born and raised in the Maverley district in Kingston, Jamaica, his hometown’s rich culture has always played an important part of his life.
Not only that, but Clarks Originals has also been a go-to look for people in Jamaica. From weddings to festivals, they’ve got them covered.
Moving from Kingston to London in his younger years, Sterling knew he wanted to bring a part of his culture to the playground.
By selling slushies to his mates, he was able save up and buy himself his very first pair of Wallabees. Making an instant hit at lunchtime matches with their extra dip and power, it’s this nostalgia that’s led to Raheem designing his own pair of Wallabees.
Droppin’ in a JD-exclusive colourway, Raheem’s kept is simple: adding small details that nod back to his culture and love for Jamaica. The shoe’s uppers are crafted from the brand’s classic nubuck leather, equipped with tonal stitching and the original design lines of the one he wore as a kid.
Built for standout comfort and style, they’re sat above a cushioned footbed for a soft feel when you lace up, while the rubber Crepe outsole provides a smooth ride and durable traction when steppin’ out on off-duty days.
With Raheem Sterling x Clarks Originals fobs attached to the laces, they’re signed off with the year Kingston was founded to the side of the heel, and the motto ‘Out of many, one people’ branded to the tongue lining.
