We hosted our first ever women’s gaming event at Pixel Bar in Manchester to celebrate women in Esports!
Joined by over 150 video game fans with special guests, an interactive panel and a gaming tournament with epic prizes to be won, check out what went down right here!
JD 🤝 Team XL
The night kicked off with a female-only panel to chat all things women in gaming.
Hosted by the incredible Gee Nelly (@geenelly), she was joined by Sunpi (@itssunpi), Sophie Snazz (@sophiesnazz) and Jupi (@yo.jupi) from XL’s Valorant team.
The girls chatted about life in the gaming space and their own experiences as female Esports competitors/streamers, with loads of great questions from the audience.
This was followed by some competitive fun, with 32 participants going head-to-head in our ultimate Mario Kart tournament, with flights, accommodation and tickets to Paris Games Week up for grabs!
There were more prizes to be won, including a £100 gift card, in our Valorant shooting range challenge, led by pro-player Jupi.
Throughout the night, DJ Jasmine Rowland (@jasminerowland_) supplied the tunes, with food, drinks and of course, a photobooth for those group snaps!
Unlock Their ‘Drobe
The girls turned up in their freshest JD ‘fits and, it’s fair to say, they did not miss.
Gee Nelly matched up a JD-exclusive Nike Oversized Crew Sweat with a pair Columbia Parachutie Cargos and some clean Nike Gamma Force creps.
Bringin’ the laidback, gaming-marathon vibes in H-to-T 3-Stripes, Sunpi paired her adidas Originals Ribbed Long Sleeve with the matching Ribbed Flare Leggings and finished off the look with a classic pair of Gazelles.
Sophie Snazz went all-out Swoosh, reppin’ a Nike Swoosh Crop Tee with some Essential Woven Cargo Pants and a fresh set of Air Force 1’s.
Finally, Jupi brought a touch of the outdoors to her get-up, opting for a North Face Bonete 1/4-Zip Sweat and Never Stop Exploring Tights, complete with some UGG Classic Ultra Mini Platform Boots for a cosy feel.
