JD x Longitude: The Mix Off

We’ve linked up with Longitude festival for the fourth year running. And we kicked things off last week with our mega Mix Off.

We saw loads of solid mixes, and last week we hosted the final round of the comp with Pirate Studios. Our finalists got the chance to set up behind the decks at Dublin’s iconic block. nightclub.

What went down

The event was headlined by British DJ D.O.D, and judged by Dundee mixer Hannah Laing.

Sean O’C (@seanocdj), Shauna Dee (@_shaunadee_) & Kian Flats (@kianflats_dj) made the top 3. But Hannah picked out her winner – Kian Flatts came out on top 🐐

The 22-year-old started DJing back in 2020. He told us that playing at block. was one of his goals for the year. It’s even better that he got to box that off as part of such a mega competition.

He said, “Playing in front of Hannah was very nerve-wracking, as she’s one of the biggest names in the world right now.

“When I got picked to win it was a mix of emotions, as the other two finalists played unbelievable sets as well.”

As well as bragging rights, Kian’s gonna get a one-on-one masterclass session with Hannah, too. Not only that, but he’ll have 10 hours session time in Pirate studios, along with backstage access to Hanna’s Longitude set and a VIP ticket to catch her in Hï Ibiza this summer.

Safe to say, Kian’s buzzing.

Make sure you catch us at Longitude festival this year. 5th and 6th July, Marlay Park. See you there.
