Manchester United x Stone Roses

It’s the collab you’ve been waiting for, United fans. The red half of Manchester meets the beating heart of the city’s music culture with the MUFC x Stone Roses collection from adidas.

Think iconic album covers and legendary guitar riffs – The Stone Roses have become synonymous with Manchester United. Frontman Ian Brown is a long-standing Old Trafford season ticket holder, while banners paying tribute to song lyrics are bandied around the stands.

The connection has been there for years though, with former United defender Gary Neville recently revealing he changed the club’s walkout song to This Is The One back in his playing career.

Now with a relationship stronger than ever, adidas has dropped the new collection here.

Fusing Football & Music

Whether the band, the football club or both has changed your life, the eye-catching collab is sure to make an impact.

Landing in both men’s and juniors’ sizes, the 3-Stripes brand has created a slim-fit shirt that’s ready for the pitch, the streets of Manchester and the stands of ‘The Theatre of Dreams’.

In a black colourway, the Pre-Match Shirt has a greyscale take on the signature acrylic splattering that made their self-titled album sleeve so renowned.

Still nodding to performance on the pitch, the fabric is crafted from soft, breathable and stretchy recycled polyester. Paired with sweat-wicking AEROREADY tech for cool comfort, the design is signed off with a gold performance logo and Man United crest on the chest.

Taking things up a level, the Anthem Jacket really is the one to look out for on matchdays. The recycled nylon outer shell keeps things simple with a black colourway, but it’s the reversible inner shell that bangs the drum.

Guitarist John Squire’s reworked version of Jackson Pollock’s famous artwork takes centre stage as an all over print on the recycled polyester material. Harnessing the late ‘80s and early ‘90s Madchester scene, the psychedelic pattern is split down the middle with a full zip fastening for easy layering.

To finish up the look, zippered side pockets keep hold of your essentials, while the gold United crest is embroidered to the outer shell and the multicoloured 3-Stripes run down the collar.

Made in Manchester
