Almost two decades after its original launch, the New Balance 1000 range is back with a bang, landing in three JD-exclusive colourways.
Pushing the boundaries of what everyday style looks like, this reimagined classic sits next to other New Balance models like the 9060 and WRPD runner. The late ‘90s OG has seen a transition from its roots in trail running to become a streetwear favourite.
After a massively successful launch earlier this year, New Balance isn’t stopping just there as this new drop offers even more statement style. Find out why they’re making waves on the streets again.
The 1000s DNA🧬
Originally landing on the scene in 1999, the 1000 was designed by New Balance to be ‘the perfect trainer’. These late ‘90s kicks were defined by a streamlined silhouette, with features like prominent overlay panels, a segmented, sculpted sole and neon eyelet units that defined their appearance.
Hiding themselves in the archives for over two decades, traction around the shoe was brought back to life by New Balance Made In USA creative director Teddy Santis earlier this year when he posted a photo of them on his Instagram story that sparked hype from Sneakerheads across the globe.
The next breakthrough for their reintroduction was New Balance’s collab with Chicago designer Joe Freshgoods. He launched two colourways on his website on April 12th in Pink Mink and Black Ice, with Black Ice launching again just a week later.
Back and Here to Stay⬇️
Taking things to the next level, New Balance then dropped the 1000’s as part of their seasonal collection, with the first pair coming in a Silver/Black colourway.
Fronted by Brit Award winning rapper Dave and shot by Ewen Spencer, the campaign hinted at how this sport model is shaped by modern culture and streetwear for a new take on the Y2K-era aesthetic.
Transitioning from a chunky dad shoe to a fan favourite in streetwear culture, the reissued kicks have resurrected after over two decades to become one of the hottest pairs in the game.
A New, Exclusive Drop💧
Following on from their huge popularity earlier this year, the sneakers are coming back in new, JD-exclusive colourways.
Up top, New Balance’s 1000 shoes have an inverted mesh and leather overlay design, and mesh underlays that emerge from standout overlay panels for a refined, tech-inspired look.
Underfoot, a segmented sole unit features ABZORB cushioning at the heel and forefoot, while a grippy rubber outsole offers traction as you step out on the streets.
They’re all signed off with the well-known and loved ‘N’ logo on the sidewalls for that signature New Balance finish.
Dropping in a range of colourways, choose from our huge collection including Grey/White, Light Grey/White and even Black/Triple Black.
