Only At JD: New Balance 1000

1999. The millennium was upon us.

A decade of ‘dad-shoe’ running sneakers was ending. But to sign off the ‘90s and welcome in the Y2K era, New Balance dropped the 1000.

Chunky, yet streamlined. Retro, yet futuristic.

Not fitting into the 900 or 1000 series’, the 1000 was an individual.

Returning in late 2024, this season sees it stand out in four JD-exclusive colourways. Repped by big names.

1000 times over

Bukayo Saka. Arsenal and England’s superstar forward has a new wave of energy.

Electric on the pitch, he keeps things casual off it. Meeting family, linking with mates, kicking back.

Araloyin Oshunremi. Another that’s always in the spotlight. Breaking through on Top Boy, even greater things are on the horizon.

London’s their playground – they set the pace in the New Balance 1000.

Let’s talk tech. The NB1000 isn’t short of it.

Big cushioning? Always. New Balance’s signature ABZORB cushioning is split in two: one part to the front, one to the heel. Between, Stability Web outsole tech adds arch support. So you can go on and on, wherever the motive is.

Up top, mesh underlays are layered with wavy synthetic overlays, while a unique lace fastening locks you in place. The legendary ‘N’ logo finishes things off alongside 1000 branding.

Want the full look? Go head-to-toe in sports heritage with tracksuits inspired by the track. Contrasting piping. Vintage wordmarks. Woven fabrics. These sets and the 1000 – it just works.

We’ve done the talking. It’s time to check them out.
