The JD Foundation is back, and it’s bigger and better than ever before!
After almost 10 years of creating partnerships and supporting charities across the UK, it’s time to go even further with the JD Foundation.
With a fresh new look and a clearer vision to help young people achieve their unlimited potential, the JD Foundation has had a full revamp and is ready to make an even bigger impact.
What We’re About
The JD Foundation was founded in 2015, with a mission to create real change and support those who work with disadvantaged young people across the UK. From homelessness charities to mental health workers, youth club takeovers and mentoring, the JD Foundation has worked hard to make a difference.
Now, in 2024 we’re taking the JD Foundation to the next level, with our new mission to build stronger youth communities and transform young peoples’ lives through opportunities, engagement, and social change right across the UK.
In case you didn’t know, the JD Foundation already receives 100% of the net profit made when you pick up a JD Duffle bag when you’re shopping in-store! That’s right – every time you pick up a JD Duffle bag, you’re helping the JD Foundation to support your community! In fact, just last year the Foundation raised over £1 million just from your JD Duffle bag purchases!

What We’ve Got Planned
As part of our big JD Foundation re-launch, we’ve got a 3-year plan that’s going to help us go above and beyond.
As well as continuing to provide support to existing charities, we’re going to introduce some of our own inspiring programmes, like JD UP.
JD UP is a national project that will rethink the way we look at careers, opportunities, and employment. In April, we’ll be inviting young people to an immersive event which introduces them to the world of JD Sports and gets them to start thinking about their journey in a hands-on way!
Alongside delivering aspirational events to young people directly through the JD Foundation, we’ll be providing more opportunities through building partnerships with national charities like The Prince’s Trust, which will help us to support young people into work through their Get Started, Get Into and Get Hired programmes, teaching skills like communication, confidence and resilience and connecting the dots between young people and the world of work.
Not stopping there, the JD Foundation will be focusing on building a national network of Charity Partners that will help us to achieve our vision, with every single charity being nominated by one of our colleagues!
We’ve pledged a minimum of £1,000,000 per year to our UK-wide Grant Giving programme, which will see the JD Foundation support hundreds of vision-aligned charities, all of which will be nominated by JD colleagues to receive a one-off grant.
What’s more, we’re going even further by exploring our European territories and seeing how the JD Foundation can provide opportunities and positive change in every territory that we work in, globally, within the next five years.
Bigger And Better
The JD Foundation is set to take on its biggest year yet – with a packed 2024 calendar to deliver opportunities and make a difference in the lives of young people all over the UK, and beyond.
