After over a decade in the archives, PUMA is back with a new, reimagined version of their iconic Speedcat silhouette.
With its roots in motorsports, the shoe is synonymous with speed, precision and unparalleled performance.️
Racing Roots 🏎️
Originally designed as fireproof shoes for Formula 1 drivers in 1999, the sneaks soon sped off the tracks to dominate the fashion scene.
The OG racing kicks were first launched as a lifestyle shoe in 2000, where they dropped in mid-cut and low-cut versions.
Repped off the track by racing stars such Michael Schumacher, who was driving for PUMA Team Ferrari at the time, the shoe started to make waves on the streets.
With 10 years of street domination for the kicks, PUMA launched a Golden Speedcat in 2010 as a symbol of their ‘golden era’ between Y2K and Y2K10.
Back With A Bang 💥
Taking the centre stage after some time away, PUMA has re-invented the Speedcat, while keeping all its fan favourite features.
The silhouette remains almost identical to the OG, although PUMA have added a Cat logo to the toe box and amped up the comfort underfoot for smoother steppin’.
Every detail, even down to the iconic colourways stays true to its original racing heritage, keeping that authentic feel as you lace up in them.
Heading up the campaign for this iconic return is stylist and creator Sierra Rena. It symbolises what it takes to be a female leader on and off the track, using the Speedcat as a nod to empowerment and innovation.
Next Up For The Speedcat 🔜
Already seen on Albanian singer and songwriter Dua Lipa and K-Pop superstar Rosé in PUMA’s latest campaign, the Speedcat is now droppin’ at JD in new colourways.
Keeping their signature Red and Black racing styles, PUMA are bringing the heat with additional Pink Blush, Amber Gold and Dark Green versions of the Speedcat.
The low-profile kicks use soft leather up top, with rubber in the midsole and outsole for durable wear.
Sleek lines look fast and bold, while signature details like the embroidered PUMA Cat on the toe and the iconic Formstrip to the sidewalls resemble the history of the shoe.
