This weekend, boxing is back with a bang with a stacked pay-per-view card from the Manchester Arena.
Headlining the show is what’s sure to be an explosive bout between two heavyweight titans in Derek Chisora (32-10-0) against former WBO Heavyweight champion Joseph Parker (28-2-0).
The rivalry began back in 2019 with an original fight date set. However, this was cancelled with Parker pulling out of the fight due to a spider bite.
Now fully fit again, the New Zealander has won his last 4 fights, although his last fight was a rather underwhelming win against undefeated Junior Fa back in his hometown of Auckland. This fight will prove his biggest test since losing a close contest to Dillian Whyte back in 2018.
Zimbabwean born Chisora has had a rollercoaster of a career with enterprising title fights against the likes of Tyson Fury and Vitali Klitschko at the beginning of his 42-fight career.
His recent change in lifestyle regarding his training and dieting has led to a resurgence that has seen him reach the top 10 in the world, knocking out Artur Szpilka and David Price along the way.
But having lost his last fight to one of the pound-for-pound greats in Oleksandr Usyk, the Finchley man will be looking to make amends this Saturday.
There will be plenty of high-profile names on the undercard including Katie Taylor, Chris Eubank Jr and Campbell Hatton, son of boxing legend Ricky. As well as a light-heavyweight title clash between Dmitry Bivol and Craig Richards.
