Founded in 1966 by the Van Doren brothers, Vans’ footwear was adopted by skateboarders back in the ‘70s and has been repped on and off the board ever since.
Era & Sk8-Hi
Designed by Tony Alva and Stacy Peralta, the iconic Era silhouette dropped in ’76. It repped Vans’ iconic ‘Off the Wall’ logo for the first time – a staple on their sneaks over 40 years later! The Era was a must-cop for a whole generation of skateboarders.
Two years later in ‘78, Vans introduced the Sk8-Hi, their second sneak to sport the now-iconic Sidestripe. With a high-profile design that sits above the ankle, the Sk8-Hi changed the game, taking skate functionality to a whole new level…
Although the Sk8-Hi and Era silhouettes remain unchanged, Vans are constantly switching ‘em up with fresh fabrics and colourways.
