With lock down seeming to go on and on and the feelin’ of not knowing what day it is being a constant, here at JD we’re channelling some good vibes with positive moments of the week to uplift your spirits!
Whether you’re WFH or social distancing in the garden, life has never been so different and times are tough. In the last few weeks, we’ve seen loadsa people come together up and down the country, standing at their front doors, windows and balconies, to show their appreciation for NHS staff and keyworkers.
The #clapforrcarers is giving us a much-needed morale boost with communities comin’ together to say a HUGE thank-you to our heroes for keeping us safe every day!
Scroll below to see our round up of the moments of joy we’ve come across this week…
Giant Rainbow
Rainbows have been croppin’ up on windows, roads and signs around the UK to spread hope and keep us and our key workers feeling strong. And this tribute in Cheltenham College is AMAZING.

Trendsetter Tom
Remember our guy Captain Tom? Meet his 2.0 Dabirul! Golden oldie Dabirul Islam Choudhury, challenged himself to walk 100 laps of his garden after feelin’ inspired by Capt Tom. He set a goal of raising £1000 by the end of Ramadan but he hit that within hours! At 100 years old he’s raised more than £150,000 for coronavirus relief. Hero!

Scrub Up!
Scrubs for Heroes have been inviting anyone and everyone with a sewing machine to create fresh scrubs for NHS staff. All sets of scrubs have been sewn, ironed and packed ready to use. #teamwork

Road Ready
Tourdethanks insta page has been set up to to bring communities together and encourage people to offer their bikes, that might be sittin’ in hallways and garages, to NHS staff or essential key workers. Cycling to work gives ’em a safe commute by avoiding public transport and unnecessary contacts, keeping NHS staff on the front line for longer and keeping the public safe. Not only is exercise and time outside important for our physical health, but our mental health too!

Light it Up
We’ve seen tributes across the UK to the NHS that have brought joy and boosted community morale and the Amba Hotel in Charing Cross have done exactly that! Transforming the front of the hotel with a message to the front line workers, the Amba Hotel is shoutin’ out what we’re all feelin’. Thank you, thank you, thank you!
