Most Popular Trainers of the Year

It’s time to wrap-up 2025.

We wanted to take a beat and celebrate another stacked year for sneakers. It’s been an unreal 12 months. Reckon 2026 can top it?

We’ve been crunching the numbers and running the data to find the 10 most popular trainers of the year. These are the trainers that have ranked highest in searches for 2025.

So, what’ve been this year’s biggest hitters? Let’s find out.

JD presents: The most popular trainers of 2025 by search volume.

Starting off big. These are the ones that have defined the tread game in 2025.

No.10: Nike Dunk

In at number 10 with over 1.3 million impressions is a Swoosh staple. The Nike Dunk. With roots on ‘80s basketball courts, today’s Dunk is crafted for comfort on the streets. Premium leathers. Crisp overlays. Soft foam. Class. With iconic colourways to boot, Nike’s Dunk is still a firm favourite. Down one place from last year, the Dunk makes the list for another year.

No.9: New Balance 530

Down from fourth in 2024, in at number nine is the New Balance 530. With over 2.4m impressions, the 530 had another stellar year. Taking cues from noughties runners, the 530 is a lifestyle trainer through-and-through. Breathable mesh keeps things cool. ABZORB cushioning is soft and supportive. Make them your new go-to.

No.8: adidas Gazelle

Next up, and narrowly beating the 530, it’s the adidas Originals Gazelle. A terrace icon, Gazelles were born on the indoor courts before finding a home in football stadiums across Europe. A legend since the ‘60s, the Gazelle is still making moves. Down just one position from last year, it’s standing firm in our top 10.

No.7: Nike Air Max 95

Our first new entry on this year’s list, and it’s one close to our hearts. The Nike Air Max 95. With over 2.5m impressions across the year, it’s a strong showing from one of Nike’s most legendary silhouettes.  With huge drops including the OG Neon and Pink Foam, 2025 was a mad one for the AM95. Here’s to more in 2026.

No.6: adidas Campus

After a podium third place finish in 2024, The Campus is down a few places with over 2.6m impressions. Another strong year, these adidas Originals icons continue to deliver. Bold and chunky, add them to your line-up.

No. 5: New Balance 9060

Unmoved in fifth position, it’s the New Balance 9060. Exactly where it placed last year.  Consistently strong, the 9060 had a belting 2025 with over 2.7m impressions. Pulling inspiration from the Y2K era, they’ve got retro roots in the 99X series, but with a modern feel. ABZORB and SBS keeps you cushioned from heel to toe. Sway bars taken from the 990 create the illusion of visible motion.

No. 4: adidas Handball Spezial

Next up is another legendary trainer that didn’t make it onto our 2024 list. It’s the Handball Spezial. Not even cracking the top 10 in 2024, it’s come out firing in 2025 and landed itself in fourth spot with 3.2m impressions. That’s what you call a comeback. Another of adidas Originals’ signature terrace line-up, these are essential.

No. 3: Nike Air Force 1

Taking the bronze medal spot, it’s the Nike Air Force 1. Up three spots from sixth position last year, the Air Force 1 has been flying in 2025 with just under 3.3m impressions. One of Nike’s most famous silhouettes, the durable leather upper, Nike Air midsole and bold colourways make it one of those trainers you simply need in your rotation.

No. 2: adidas Samba

They took last year’s crown, but it’s a second-place finish for the famous adidas Originals Samba. The third and final terrace trainer to make our list, these 3-Stripes staples achieved a mega 3.8m impressions across 2025. Always up there as one of the year’s biggest hitters, the Samba is a force to be reckoned with.

No. 1: Nike P-6000

And finally, your most popular trainer of the year. The Nike P-6000. Running away with the title after a massive 4.6m impressions, they didn’t even make the top 10 last year. But 2025 has well and truly been the year of the P-6000. Padded collars. Breathable mesh uppers. Soft foam midsoles. Not only do they look class, they feel unreal as well. There’s a reason they’re this year’s hottest trainer.

Conclusion

There you have it. Your top 10 trainers of 2025. Happy with that list? What missed out?

Nike and adidas dominated this year’s list with four franchises each. New Balance delivered with the final two. Any other brands you’d have liked to have seen do well?

There were some interesting comparisons to last year’s list. The Dunk, 530, Gazelle, Campus and Samba all dropped places this year. The 9060 finished in the same place as 2024. The Air Force 1 rose from sixth to third.

Newcomers to the list include the Air Max 95, Handball Spezial, and coming out of nowhere to steal the crown, the P-6000.

For the data, JD looked at their own Google Search Console impressions from January 1st to December 10th 2025 for related trainer collection keywords
