Nothing says icon in the kick game quite like Air Max, and with Air Max Day approaching we want to take a look back at some of their most iconic silhouettes – starting with the Air Max 90…
Born in 1990 and designed by Tinker Hatfield, the Air Max 90 was known as the Air Max III, until being given the retro treatment in 2000. The 90 is an aggressive, fast-looking trainer, with a midsole that’s been split into front and back sections to allow for a range of performance and material options.
With cultural links in music and even skateboarding, it’s definitely a game-changer. Like its predecessor the Air Max 1, the Air Max 90 has seen some sick collabs, including the chocolatey Footpatrol hook up, neon-accented Dave White piece and the Atmos Camo pack. The 90 is a big hit with celebs too…Kanye, LeBron James, The Game and even Beyoncé have all been papped wearing them.
JD is synonymous with the Air Max franchise and has been at the forefront since way back when. In fact, the 90 is one of THE most popular sneaker franchises in JD history. With JD-exclusive colourways and SE/Ultra versions – shop the complete collection here.
