Originally droppin’ in ’98, the legendary sneaks were designed by Sergio Lozano, the same man that created the Air Max 95s! Takin’ the full-length visible Air unit that had just appeared on the Air Max 97, Sergio gave the sneakers a wavy upper for a completely unique look.
Unfortunately, because the 98s shared an Air unit with the massively popular 97s, many sneakerheads didn’t give the new sneakers a fair shot – leading the Air Max 98 to be overlooked.
However, over the years, the Air Max 98 has steadily grown in popularity and gained a cult following among sneakerheads. Being retro’d several times, the Air Max 98s are now seen as equal to all the other iconic Air Max creps!
