Nike are serious about protecting the planet and as part of their Move 2 Zero they’ve been making big changes. They’re constantly rethinking and reinventing the materials that go into each and every one of their products, as well as reviewing the processes used in making them. As well as looking at their iconic Air technology, recycled fabrics and more, they’re dropping an all-new VaporMax – the next step in their journey.
The VaporMax 2020 Flyknit puts waste to good use, using leftover materials straight from the factory floor. It’s made with at least 50% recycled content by weight! The sneak features a stretchy, recycled Flyknit upper and the ‘OG’ edition comes in a Pure Platinum colourway with woven, multi-coloured detailing. Using post-industrial Flyknit yarn, the trainer has a whole new look and feel through the lens of sustainability.
Underfoot, they’re sat on a revolutionary, one-piece VaporMax 2 Air unit, which packs in more Air than ever before, while making use of at least 75% recycled TPU. Not just creating sustainable tech, they use 100% renewable energy in the process of making it. 90% of the waste that’s made when Air soles are built goes into making new, innovative tech.
They have a recycled rubber outsole for traction, and are finished with a Flyease fast fit system for a locked in fit, as well as a TPU heel clip and the iconic Swoosh logo to the sidewalls.
