St. Patrick’s Day: Where to Celebrate

On Saturday 17th March, Ireland celebrates the life of their patron saint, St. Patrick. A celebration that’s recognised around the world globally, and typically celebrated with bright green and orange parades. Led this year by Game of Thrones star Liam Cunningham (AKA Sir Davos), the St Patrick’s day parade in Dublin is considered one of the best globally. Starting at Parnell Square with the theme of ‘home is where the heart is’, thousands line the streets of Dublin to celebrate and watch the spectacular performance.

After the sun has set on Dublin, take a tour around the city to see some of the city’s most famous landmarks and iconic buildings ‘turned green’ to celebrate St Patrick’s Day.

Not in Ireland over the weekend? No need to panic! London will turn green for the 16th time, with St Patrick’s Day celebrations commencing at Trafalgar Square. Alternatively, head to Borough Market where they’ll be pay tribute to the patron saint with Irish-themed products.

Celebrations continue in the North. Join in the fun at Manchester’s Albert Square with the Irish market, home to plenty of Irish souvenirs, as well as hot drinks and food. Not to mention the large screens set up for people to watch the England vs Ireland game at 2.45pm.
