Top Trends To Watch

We’re always bang on top of the hottest trends here at JD, with the latest looks, freshest kicks and must-have accessories always droppin’!

That’s why we’re already lookin’ ahead to the rest of 2022 and what’s going to be filling up your ‘drobes!

From fire ‘fits to on-trend treads, here’s what we predict to be big in the world of men’s fashion this year. Take a look!

Throwback Threads

Trends are like a moving wheel, always turnin’, with one thing on top then another. Right now, it seems we’ve gone full circle, with OG, retro-inspired threads from the ‘80s and ‘90s making a huge comeback!

Vintage has been in for a while now, but we don’t see it going away anytime soon, with old-school heat continuing to line your ‘drobe in 2022.

Nike have been going big on the archive-inspired heat lately. Throwback designs and colourways on their latest garms, brings a fresh OG aesthetic to their range. Nike’s retro crew Sweatshirts also bring a vintage vibe to your chill day rotation.

Berghaus’ tie-dye fleeces nod to the early ‘90s while keepin’ you snug and with the return of big ‘80s and ‘90s brands such as Ellesse and Fila too, old-school style is still on the radar for 2022.

Varsity Vibes

Cop a campus-ready ‘fit and feel fresh as varsity is still very much in RN! Big spell-out logos that take cues from college campuses across the pond, varsity style is here to stay in 2022!

Champion, Nike, and adidas Originals have all dropped heat influenced by US university life lately and we are absolutely here for it!

Champion and Nike’s range of tees and hoodies use big spell-out logos for that uni-life look, while adidas Originals have gone for a ‘90s aesthetic with their range for collegiate style vibes.

For options when layerin’ up, think cable knit jumpers, varsity jackets, vests and gilets for an ultra preppy look.

This trend is one to keep an eye on this year!

From The Peaks To The Streets

Fashion inspired by the outdoors has hit new heights, with hiking gear originally designed for the hills and mountains making its way to the streets.

Pioneered by brands such as The North Face, Columbia and Berghaus, with Nike, adidas Terrex and Technicals all droppin’ heat too, this trends sees tech-heavy gear that’s built for the outdoors finding a new home in your everyday rotation.

From wicking away the rain to keepin’ those cold winds at bay, all while lookin’ absolutely stellar, this trend is a must when the weather takes a turn!

Cop lightweight jackets, padded jackets, thick fleeces and gilets for that adventure-core vibe this year!

Don’t forget your feet too! For a nature-ready feel, look no further than brands such as Salomon and Timberland!

Sherpa Chic

Cosy up this winter ‘cos Sherpa is in to help you beat the cold! Stay snug when the temp heads south in a super-thick, ultra-soft fleece that keeps in the heat and looks fresh, too!

Thick fleece is very much on trend this SZN and we expect this to still be the case come autumn later in the year.

Nike and Fila have both dropped Sherpa fleece hoodies for unrivalled comf’, while Converse recently dropped a pair of their iconic Chuck 70’s with soft, Sherpa fleece to keep your feet extra snug and toasty!

When trends are just this cosy, they’re definitely worth sticking to!

Big Soles, Big Style

Chunky soles are still the rage and we don’t expect their popularity to die down this year. Air Max and VaporMax from Nike continue to shred the game when it comes to big kicks, but the latest adidas Originals Ozweego Knits deserve a whole load of attention too!

There’s also the return of New Balance to keep an eye out for! Makin’ a big comeback in 2021, we predict they’ll continue on that upward trajectory and we love it!

New Balance look set to stay this time, with their latest 2002R range makin’ big waves among sneakerheads. A refreshing change for the chunky-sole scene that’s been largely dominated by Nike and adi up to now.

Big soles are set to stay this year and that’s good with us!
