Launching today, Nike gives the iconic Air Max 97 another next-level upgrade. Getting the metallic treatment once again, the Air Max 97 has dropped in two dreamy, metallic colourways – just for the gals!
Air Max 97 – The Design
First launching in the ‘90s in the iconic ‘Silver Bullet’ colourway, Nike’s Air Max 97 has since become a major icon. Designed by the legend Christian Tresser, its futuristic look takes inspo from water dropping into a pond, which explains why the wavy overlays extend out to the full-length Air unit. The first of its kind!
The hidden lacing system is taken for granted now but back in ’97, this was game-changing. A low-key contrast to the 360° reflectivity and high-shine panelling, the lacing design is an easy feature to overlook but a huge part of this sneak’s DNA. They’re also equipped with a mini swoosh and a full-length Air unit underfoot for a super comfy feel!
