New Balance has done it again. They’ve dug into their archives and revived one of their iconic styles.
That’s right, the 878 is back to make waves and to show you how it’s done, the brand has linked up with UK artist and actor, Little Simz (@littlesimz).

‘90s-Inspired Style
The 878 silhouette first made its come back with a 1-to-1 reissue back in 2015. Since then, New Balance has continued to revive and refresh the style, with must-have colourways and JD-exclusive editions still dropping today.
It first launched as a runner back in the ‘90s, and the trainer came in a simple, fresh white colourway with black and navy accents. Bold and chunky, the 878 is packed with retro-inspired style, featuring a premium leather and suede upper. Underfoot, they’re sat on NB’s signature ABZORB midsole, aka. supportive cushioning for lightweight, long-lasting comfort.
Like always, they’re finished up with the legendary New Balance ‘N’ logo to the sidewalls!
Channel Little Simz
Hailing from North London, Little Simz has made waves on the music scene, as well as in her acting career. If you haven’t seen her in Top Boy (where’ve you been?!), then you have to have heard her music. With a number of awards under her belt and four game-changing studio albums, she’s got stacks of fans, including the likes of Kendrick Lamar and Jay-Z.
Not stopping at music and acting, Little Simz knows a thing or two about style. She’s joined forces with New Balance and she’s lacing up in the 878 trainer. In a JD-exclusive Grey colourway, these chunky kicks can be paired with everything from jeans to joggers, delivering maximum comfort and statement, retro style.
